About the event
What is a caucus?
A caucus is a local meeting of Democrats in your neighborhood or voting precinct. It’s the first step in the party’s ballot nominating process. Caucus is the first step in getting candidates on the ballot. You must attend Caucus to become a delegate for Assembly, where you can use your vote for candidates you want to see on the 2026 ballot.
Who can participate?
First-time participants are welcome and encouraged to come to caucus! You do not need experience to attend. As long as you’re a registered Democrat by February 11, 2026 and live in Douglas County, this is YOUR caucus! Many people come just to listen, learn, and understand how the process works. Many more come to become delegates so they can help candidates they support get on the ballot.
You can check or change your registration at GoVoteColorado.gov.
